Grave 3. This grave as wcll as all the following graves were found in
1868 and were not excavated by trained people. As far as can he gleaned
froni the old report, grave 1 may well serve as a typical example of all tlie
grave-yard, witli tlie exceplion however tliat no animals had been buried
with the woman, while clogs and horses had t)een buried with tlieir
masters in llie other cases. Grave 3 almost certainly was a double grave,
lliat of an elderly man and a youtli. They had obviously been buried in a
little boat, as shown by the presence of a number of iron rivels with square
rivet-plates. Buried articles:

b. Bronze chupe of a slieath, belonging to the sword, decorated in tlie

On the position of Ihe various olijects nothing quite definite can t>e said.
Grave 4. A woman’s grave. Considerable remains ol' tliis were found ín
1947, attliougli much disturbed in 18(>8. Grave-goods:
a. Bonc comb, fragmentary.
1). 3 glass beads. Fig. 2.
c. Silver finger-ring. Fig. 2.
According to tlie report from 1868 a spear-head (Fig. 4) should liave tieen
found in tliis grave, but as tlie skeleton décidedly is that ol' a woman (see
J, Steffensen’s report below), tliis inust lie a wrong piece of information.
Grave 5. Contained skeletons of a man and a dog, lmt no horse bones.
The only object was a spear-head of tlie type Jan Petersen i'ig. 21. F'ig. 4.
Grave 6. Contained a huinan skeleton and tlie bones of a dog. No otlier
information.
Gravc 1—.9. The information aliout tliese graves is very unsatisfactory,
lmt probably tliey where similar lo the olliers, no real grave-mound, but a
stone-layer covering the relics.
Somewliere in tlie burial-field a fragment of a double-edged comb was
found, and it is eertain that originally il belonged to one of llie graves. Fig.
