contact between the rhyolite and the basalt in the composite dyke as seen at the
entrance to the gully in the mountain Lambafell. Note that the contact is sharp
and no rhyolite veins cut the basalt dyke.

inn við stallinn neðst í
Hökulvíkurgili. Gangur-
inn er hér 13 m þykkur og
skiptist í fjóra basalthluta
og þrjá líparíthluta. Þykkt-
ir hlutanna eru nokkurn
veginn í réttum hlutföll-
um. — The composite dyke
in the lower part of the
gully in Lambafell. The
dyke consists offour basalt
parts and three rhyolite
parts. The total thickness
of the dyke is about 13 m.
The thickness of the

dyke are approximately to
scale.
