Hjúkrunarnemi starfar við hlið hjúkrunarfræðings á vakt eða með bakvakt hjúkrunar- fræðings. Starfshlutfall eftir samkomulagi. Gerðar eru kröfur um að: hjúkrunarfræðingur eða hjúkrunarnemi hafi ánægju og gleði af því að vinna með öldruðum og geti tekist á við krefjandi aðstæður. Laun samkvæmt samningi Fíh og Sambands íslenskra sveitarfélaga.
