Icelandic: Þrílaufungur. Danish : Tredelt Egebregne. English: Oak Fern, Moss Fern.
Common in most parts in the lowland; not recorded from the central parts. In
E. it seems to be rare, only recorded from Seyðisfjörður (H.J., 1894), and from
some few places in Reyðarfjörður (I.Ö., 1929, p. 39). In S. and S.W. it is recorded
from several places.
Life-form: G. (Rhizome Geophyte).
In Betula and Salix scrub, often in abundance; on herb-slopes, heaths, in fissures
in lava-fields, urðs, under overhanging rocks, in shaded and sheltered places.
Max. height: 44 cm ; average : 25 cm.
Geogr. area: N. Am.: Arctic and temperate regions.—Greenl. : W. 60°—69°32'.
E. 60°—66°20'.—Eur.: Fær.; E.S.I.; from northern Scandinavia and Russia south-
ward to the Mediterranean.—Northern Asia southward to Himalaya, Japan, China.

at Mývatn, and in one loc. at Eyjafjörður. In S. it occurs in one place (Ytri Skógar,
G.B.). See fig. 27.
From E. and in S.E., as well as from the central parts, it has not yet been
recorded.
