This species was first recorded from Icel. by Carroll, loc. cit., at Akureyri. Gron-
lund entered it in his Isl. Flora, but as no specimens were in evidence, Stefánsson
omitted it from his Flora. In 1925, however, it was rediscovered by Ing. Óskarsson,
near Akureyri, N. It was found on a luxuriant east-exposed slope, where it had
evidently been growing for years.
It has later been found in Fagriskógur, Eyjafjörður, N. (I.D., 1933), and at
Kálfstjörn (Vogar) at Mývatn (Helgi Jónasson, 1934), and finally it has been
found in S.W., at Vífilsstaðir near Reykjavík (Steindórsson, Flórunýjungar, 1932,
P- 38), and at Fossvogur near Reykjavík, by Mag. Á. Friðriksson (Á.Fr., loc. cit.).
