Rather common in most parts of Iceland, but usually only occurring around
inhabited places, or in cultivated areas. Not found in the central parts. Originally
introduced, but may now be regarded as naturalized in Iceland.

Around inhabited places, farms, towns and villages, weed in gardens, in home-fields.

Geogr. area : Greenl. : (introduced) W. 60°42'—61 ° 11'.—Eur. : Fær. ; E.S.; north-
ern Eur. to Germany, Alps, Pyrenees.—Asia: Arctic Siberia, Altai. Kamchatka to
Korea (adventive?).
Rumex patienta L.
Recorded by Preyer & Zirkel, 1862, p. 360, and by Baring-Gould, 1863, p. 432,
should be excluded from the Icel. flora.
