In E. Iceland this species is common
from Seyðisfjörður southward and trans-
gressing into S. as far westward as Skapta-
fell. In N. it is found at Víðihóll; other-
wise it does not occur outside E., see fig.

On wet, gravelly soil, on rocks.

Only found in a few places in E. from Reyðarfjörður to Seyðisfjörður, and in
W. in the country within Faxafjörður; likewise found in two places within Húna-
fjörður, N., see fig. 105.
It was first recorded by Vahl, loc. cit., but the first specimens in evidence in
H.H. were collected in Seyðisfjörður 1885 by G.M.
Life-form: Ch.
On rock-ledges, in rock-crevices.

Max. height: 17 cm; average: 12 cm.
Geogr. area: Am.: Arctic N. Am. Labrador to Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New
