may be found, e.g. at Hveravellir, central Icel.

Erica cinerea Linn.
Babington, 1871, p. 316.
According to Babington, loc. cit., it is included by Solander in a list of plants
seen at Granfell (Grænafell, S., ?).
This species which is fairly common in the Færoes has not yet been found with
certainty in Iceland. The record cited by Babington has not been corroborated by
finds. It should be excluded from the Icelandic flora.
Erica Tetralix Linn.
Gliemann, 1824, p. 141.—Vahl, 1840, p. 373.—Babington, 1871, p. 316.
Recorded by Gliemann, loc. cit., on the authority of Morch, and by some other
earlier authors. A specimen kept in H.H. is labelled “ex Islandia leg. Thorarensen”,
but there must certainly have been an error in the labelling. It should be excluded
from the Icelandic flora.
Ledum palustre Linn.
L. latifolium Vahl, 1840, p. 373.—L. þalustre L., Babington, 1871, p. 317.
Vahl recorded this species as a native of Iceland, and a specimen kept in H.H.
is labelled : “ex Islandia Steenstrup”. It is, however, very doubtful whether it has
been collected in Iceland. It should be excluded from the Icelandic flora.
