The older lists beginning with K. & M., loc. cit., only mention A. vulgaris L.,
and even Gronlund in his Islands Flora, 1881, p. 25—26, only has A. alþina and
A. vulgaris.
A. minor Huds. is very variable in Icel. The common form is var. vestita (Buser),
with densely haired hypocalyx and pedicels, but there is quite a series of forms
transitional to specimens with nearly glabrous hypocalyx and pedicels, var. denudata
(Buser).
