Species occurring mainly in E. Iceland:
Lycopodium clavatum, D. 7. Alchemilla faeroensis, D. 5, 6, 7, 8.
Oxalis Acetosella, D. 7. Trientalis europaea, D. 7, 8, 10.
Saxifraga aizoides, D. 6, 7, 8. Ajuga pyramidalis, D. 7.
„ Cotyledon, D. 7, 8, 9.
Species occurring in the south-eastern part only:
Woodsia glabella, D. 8. Rosa Afzeliana, D. 8.
Ruppia rostellata, D. 8.
Two species are restricted mainly to the central parts:
Carex rufina, D. 3, 6, 9, 10, 1 l', 12, 13, Erigeron eriocephalus, D. 11, 15.

Of other species with a more or less characteristic distribution the
following may be mentioned:
Agropyron caninum, D. 4, 5, 9.
Scirpus acicularis, D. 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10.
Stellaria graminea, D. 1, 4, 5.
Rorippa islandica, D. 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 10.
Carex norvegica, D. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Corallorhiza trifida, D. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
6, 7.
Several of the above-named species are rare, some of them are even
found in a single locality only. No doubt some of these more rare species
will in future be found in other districts when closer investigations have
been made. There is no reason to mention the distribution in detail
here as this is done by maps in the special part, but it may be suggested
that particular attention should be paid to these plants in future in-
vestigations.

The Vertical Distribution of Species in Iceland.
In Iceland it is difficult to arrange the species in accordance with
their altitudinal zone (cp. T.T., 1914, p. 302), and throughout the
country, from the sea shore to the highest snow-free mountain-tops
