E. sylvaticum is recorded by K. & M., loc. cit., without locality, and Baring-
Gould mentions a locality: “copse near Laugarvatn” ; but this latter find has not

been confirmed later on. Thus the find made by Ing. Óskarsson at Galtahryggur in
Heydalur, N.W. (22.VII.1925) may be held as the first certain one for Icel. It was
found in birch copses far up in the Heydalur valley, west of the head of Mjóifjörður.
The specimens are sterile, about 35 cm high.
