Iceland. Most likely it will prove to be rather common, at least in the outer tracts,
when a more thorough investigation has been carried out.

On rocks, gravelly ground, in fell-field, lava-fields, urðs; in caves under rocks,
ravines, copses, etc.
Max. height: 30 cm ; average : 11 cm.

This species has a very constant habitus in Iceland, as is also the case in other
regions.
In most parts of Iceland ; in S. Icel. it has as yet only been found in one place:
Kapelluhraun near Krísuvík (Gronlund, loc. cit.).
Life-form: H.
On rock-ledges, in crevices and fissures in rocks, on stony and gravelly slopes, in
copses.
Max. height: 43 cm ; average : 23 cm.

This species was found by I.Ó. in 1936 in a few places in S., in the eastern-
most part of D. 8 : Stúfur at Hoffell, and at Horn. I myself have not seen the speci-
mens, but Ingimar Óskarsson states (in. lit.) : “quite destitute of hairs”.
It was found growing on moist rocks, especially in small crevices in vertical rocks ;
usually very sparingly.
