In Iceland S. minimum has not the
typical look, moreover it is in most cases
reminiscent of intermediate forms be-
tween the typical form of this species
and Sp. hyperboreum (W. Rothert in
schedula). Little material, however, is at
hand in H.H., and more would be highly
desirable for a closer study of this spe-
cies.
Here and there, in some parts even
frequent; it has not as yet been found
in the central parts. See fig. 33.
Life-form : HH (Hydrophyte).
In smaller lakes, ditches, old peat-pits,
etc.

Max. length: 51 cm; average: 35 cm.
Geogr. area: Am.: Newfoundland to Alaska, southward to Oregon, Utah, Colorado,
