Icelandic : Hnotsörvi. Danish : Vandkrans. English : Horned Pond-weed.
This species was first found in Iceland in the year 1884 at Torfastaðir, S. (coll.
A.F.). The specimens kept in H.H. seem to belong to the var. repens Boenn., Prodr.
Flor Monast., 1824, p. 272; the plants being of low stature, slender, with small
leaves; drupelets small, with short pedicels, rather short style, and only slightly
carinate.—It apparently fruits well in Iceland.
