Nearly exclusively limited to the cultivated areas in the lowland ; perhaps in-
troduced in comparatively recent times. In some places it may have some value as
forming part of the meadow-hay.

In moist places, wet meadows and ditches; sometimes floating in water; sometimes
abundant in manured home-fields.
