Frequent to common in most parts of the lowland, except in N.W., where it
has becn found only in one place : Lambadalur in Dýrafjörður (C.H.O., 1896).
In the central highland it is recorded from Hvítárnes (J.Gr., 1934), Laugahraun
(S.S., 1931).
Life-form: H.
In moderately moist moors on the knolls; on dry grassy ground.

Max. height: 30 cm ; average : 18 cm.

In Iceland only the typical form of C. dioica L. occurs, the varieties fi. gynocrates
(Wormskj.), y. parallela Læstad. and 8. Redowskiana (C. A. Mey.) have not yet
been recorded.
Frequent to common in E., N., N.W., S.W. and N.W. ; in S. it has been recorded
from only one locality: Þinganes in Hornafjörður (I.Ó., 1936).
Life-form: G. (Rhizome Geophyte).
In bogs and moors, on moist or moderately moist soil, along small rivulets, or just
above water lcvel on the margins of smaller lakes.

Max. height: 21 cm ; average : 10 cm.
