Icelandic: Heiðastör.
This hybrid is more or less intermediate between the parents, being more slender
than C. rigida and more robust than C. Goodenoughii. The leaves are flat without
revolute or involute margins. Usually the hybrid is sterile, achenes remaining
undeveloped.
In Iceland rather common in company with the parents.

Outside the cultivated areas this species is common throughout the lowland.
From the central highland the following localities are recorded : Arnarfell hið mikla
(J.Gr., 1934), Orravatnarústir. (Th.S., 1930).
