This species was recorded by K. & M., loc. cit., without locality. Baring-Gould,
loc. cit., states it to have been found at Hjeraðsvatn, N., and Babington, loc. cit.,
records it after Solander from Hafnarfjörður, S.W.
I have seen no specimens from these localities, but in the summer of 1932 a Mr.
Schwabe found it near the sea-shore at the farm Laugarnes outside Reykjavík, S.W.
The specimens collected by Mr. Schwabe were kept in the herbarium belonging to
Dr. H. Steffen, Allenstein, Germany, who has most kindly presented me with one.—
It may be a new introduction, but being a very inconspicuous plant it may, on the
other hand, easily have escaped notice in other places where it may possibly occur.
The specimens collected are near flowering, only 4 cm high, but otherwise normally
developed.
Life-form : H.
On wet or irrigated, sandy soil at sea-shores and lakes.
(Flowering VII—VIII).
