In fertile places; below sea-fowl cliffs; on herb-slopes, on the outskirts of copses.

Accidentally introduced, very rare. Recorded from Sauðárkrókur, N. (coll.
G.M.).
Hesperis matronalis Linn.
This species is frequently found as an escape from cultivation, around gardens
and on dumping grounds. It is one of the most frequently cultivated ornamental
plants in Icelandic gardens and church-yards.
