quite submersed; in slowly running water; rather common.
f. maritima Hellen., with broader, lanceolate leaves 1—1.5 cm long, 4—6 in each
whorl. In shallow water on the sea-shore, where it is the common form.
Life-form: HH. (Hydrophyte).
In stagnant or slowly running water, in pools, ditches, lakes, on moist mossy ground.

Max. height: 40 cm ; average: 30 cm (f. fluviatilis up to 75 cm).
