Common in all parts in the lowland as well as in the central highland. Thorodd-
sen calls it a “plateau-plant” which also occurs in the lowland (T.T., 1914, p. 304).
Life-form : H. (Th.).
On grass moors, heaths, grassy slopes; also occurring in the home-fields; on rocks,
in fell-field, and even in low scrub.

Max. height: 20 cm ; average : 5 cm.

Frequent to common in the lowland in all parts, also occurring here and there
in the central highland, up to about 700 m s. m., e.g. at the foot of Arnarfell hið
mikla, Hveravellir, Gránunes (J.Gr., 1934). Landmannahellir, Kýlingar, Kríngils-
árrani, Grágæsadalir (S.S.).

On poor uncultivated grassland, grass moors, dry meadows, fell-field.
