THE PTERIDOPHYTA AND SPERMATOPHYTA OF ICELAND

Gentiana verna Linn.
Olavius, 1780, p. 201.—Mohr, 1786, p. 167.—Babington, 1871, p. 318.—Bennet,
1890, p. 80.
This species is recorded by Olavius, loc. cit., as found at Reykjalaug, and is
also entered in some of the older lists. It is possibly a mistake for G. nivalis. G. verna
is a most unlikely plant to be found in Iceland, and it should be excluded from the
Icelandic Flora.
