Common or frequent in all parts in the lowland. In the central highland it is
only found at Hveravellir, in several places, especially around the hot springs (J.Gr.,
1934, V.R., 1935). It has evidently been brought there by tourists and other
travellers.
Life-form: H.
On grassy slopes, in home-fields, along rivulets, around hot springs.

Recorded by Preyer & Zirkel, loc. cit.; Babington remarks, loc. cit.: “This is
very unlikely to be a native”. It should be excluded from the Flora of Iceland.
Veronica Tournefortii Gmel.
This species was found in 1936 at Hruni, S., by G. Kjartansson; it was flowering
(23.VIII) and had also nearly fully developed fruits.

This species is recorded from Borgarfjörður, W., by Mohr, loc. cit., and Baring-
Gould gives the two localities Arnarvatn, W., and Laxá near Þverá, N. There are
~no specimens in evidence, so it should be excluded from the Icelandic Flora.
