sen, loc. cit., say that it grows between
Þorskafjörður and Þingmannaheiði,
N.W., but no specimens are in
evidence from these parts. It is some-
what rare, occurring in some places
at Eyjafjörður and at Mývatn, other-
wise found in a few other places in
N. and in E., and in the part north
of Vatnajökull: Fagridalur, Hvanna-
lindir (S.S., 1933) ; see fig. 169. In
Iceland it is not a pronounced hill
plant; in some localities it occurs be-
low 500 m s. m.

On sandy and gravelly soil.
