Tímarit Hins íslenska náttúrufræðifélags
þakki r
Við viljum þakka öllum þeim sem hjálpuðu til við söfnun steingervinga í
gegnum árin og við marvísleg önnur störf úti í náttúrunni: Gerwin Gruber,
Guri Bugge, Halldóri Inga Jónssyni, Jakobi Vinther, Jóni Eiríkssyni, Jóni Má
Halldórssyni, Magnúsi Helga Jónssyni, Ólöfu Ernu Leifsdóttur, Snorra
Gíslasyni og Thomas Mörs. Hluta steingervinganna var safnað af Michael
A. Akhmetiev og samstarfsmönnum hans á árunum kringum 1980.
Rannsóknamámssjóði er þakkað fyrir að styrkja rannsóknir Friðgeirs
Grímssonar. Sænska rannsóknaráðið (Swedish Research Council) fjár-
magnaði rannsóknarferð til íslands sumarið 2003. Sænska heimskautarann-
sólaiastofnunin (Swedish Polar Research Secretariat) útvegaði og tæki og
tól til útivinnunnar. Við viljum einnig þakka Margréti Hallsdóttur á Nátt-
úrufræðistofnun íslands fyrir að veita okkur aðgang að steingervingasafni
stofnunarinnar og fyrir aðstöðu til myndatöku. Sigurði Steinþórssyni eru
þakkaðar góðar ábendingar um basaltsvæði Norður-Atlantshafs, myndun
Islands og rekbeltaflutninga.
