Í norrænu matsrannsókninni Raddir notenda er annars vegar
spurt um árangur náms- og starfsráðgjafar í fullorðins-
fræðslu og hins vegar hvort leitað sé með skipulegum hætti
eftir áliti notenda á þjónustu og stefnumótun. Niðurstöður úr
rýnihópakönnun liggja nú fyrir á Íslandi og leiða í ljós ánægju
með þjónustuna og að ráðþegar eru virkir þátttakendur í
náms- og starfsráðgjöfinni sjálfri. Jafnframt kemur í ljós að
ekki er leitað álits notenda á þjónustunni eða þeir hafðir með
í ráðum við mat á þjónustunni eða stefnumótun. Niðurstöður
úr rýnihópum gefa einungis vísbendingar og því verður afar
fróðlegt að skoða niðurstöður úr þeirri stóru spurninga-
könnun sem nú er verið að leggja fyrir þúsundir notenda
náms- og starfsráðgjafar á Norðurlöndum. Fyrir utan að vera
stærsta rannsókn sinnar tegundar á Norðurlöndum mun hún
gefa dýrmætar upplýsingar sem vonandi verða til þess að
auka gæði náms- og starfsráðgjafar fyrir fullorðna.

A b S T R A c T
When study and vocational counselling is assessed, it is its
value that is the issue. How valuable, for example, is it to
those who seek the advice of a study or vocational coun-
sellor? Does its value consist of the advisees feeling better
or that they learn a method that can lead to success when
seeking employment? The principal questions of a Nordic
assessing research on study and vocational counselling in
adult education institutions can be categorised as following:
1. How does the advisees benefit from study and voca-
tional counselling and how satisfied are the advisees
with the service that they receive? The basic value of
this service is its quality, that is, if the counselling is
reaching the goals that were set.
2. Are those who have received the service of study and
vocational counsellors listened to and what influence
do adult advisees have on the development and struc-
ture of the service? The basic value here is the demo-
cratic idea that citizens have the right to express their
opinions on the structure and organisation of the serv-
ice that they receive.
This paper describes the study, the events leading up to it,
the questions it poses, the process and first findings.
