Ur lóg og reglugerð
FrÓðskaparrit (Atmales Societatis Scientiarum Faero=
ensis) is the annual publication of the Føroya FrÓðskapar^
felag (the Faroese Scientific Society), established in Tórs*
havn on December 17, 1952.
The statutes of the Society run as follows:
Art. 2. The object of the Society is:
1. to enter into co*operation with people in this country who
take an interest in scientific work,
2. to publish, in Faroese, FRÓÐSKAPARRIT, the year book of
the Society,
3. to procure scientific literature and to work for the establish*
ment of a fund for the purpose of forming the basis of a future
institute of scientific researches and education in the Faroe Islands.
Art. 3. When the committee has accepted to print a treatise in the year
book of the Society, the author is admitted to a membership of
the Society if he desires so.
The regulations of the Fróðskaparrit run as follows:
The purpose of these treatises is the publication of recent obs
servations and results of scientific researches from all branches
of science. It is not a necessary condition that the treatises deal
with Faroese subjects (they have, however, to be written in Faroese,
with a foreign summary), but the author has to give the subject
for his treatise a personal treatment. It is not possible to reprint
documents from different archives as they are, but treatises based
on such material are welcome.
Since 1954 the Society has published Supplementa, a
series of monographs, which have appeared at irregular
intervals.
All correspondance to the Society is to be addressed:
