Report of Leadership Training Committee
On behalf of the Camp committee I beg to submit the follovving
report:
At our convention last summer a letter was read from the Manitoba
District Luther League and from the Manitoba Federated Luther
Leagues of the American Lutheran Church expressing a desire to co-
operate with our Lutheran Women’s League in the establishing of a
camp for training in Christian Leadership.
The delegates of the convention did not reject this proposal nor did
they accept it. They decided to ask the Camp committee, together with
Rev. V. J. Eylands, Rev. E. H. Fafnis and Rev. B. A. Bjarnason, to meet
representatives from these two organizations and gain all possible in-
formation as regarded plan of co-operation, with special attention to
cost distribution and distribution of time for courses etc. Reports of
these meetings were to be sent to the various secretaries of our L. W. L.
and votes from the aids within our League would decide our stand in
this proposal.
A joint meeting was called the second week of August. Four repre-
sentatives from the Manitoba District Luther League and Manitoba
Federated Luther Leagues of the American Lutheran Church met our
representatives Mrs. Victor Jonasson, Mrs. Gray, Mrs. Henrickson, Rev.
V. J. Eylands. A report of this meeting, together with a tentative plan
of co-operation was sent to each of our Ladies Aids and the result of
your votes sent in to our Committee was a definite rejection. Seventeen
votes were registered against the co-operation and tliree votes in favor
of co-operation.
This result showed an unmistakable desire to own and control this
project. I hope our members show as much enthusiasm to carry this to
