LOKAORÐ
Niðurstöður rannsóknarinnar benda til að auka þurfi stuðning
og fræðslu til nýraþega fyrir aðgerð og þá sérstaklega til
þeirra sem fá nýra frá látnum gjafa. Lítið er til af fræðsluefni á
íslensku um nýraígræðslur og úr því þarf að bæta. Þá er einnig
áhugavert að kanna lífsgæði og stuðning við sjúklinga með
lokastigsnýrnabilun, sem eru í skilunarmeðferð, með sama
matstæki og hér var notað (SF­36v²). Það gæfi möguleika á
samanburði þessara hópa og hægt væri að meta hvort lífsgæði
og heilsa íslenskra nýrnasjúklinga batna við að fá ígrætt nýra.
Vonast er til að niðurstöður rannsóknarinnar verði til að auka
stuðning og fræðslu til sjúklinga með lokastigsnýrnabilun og
bæta þannig lífsgæði þeirra bæði fyrir og eftir nýraígræðslu.
