Words which have not been found in older sources are:

17, 19 (probably ‘bran,’ ‘that which has been sifted out?’).

The scribe of O employs fewer graphic variants, uses abbrevia-
tions less and commits errors more frequently than does the scribe
of N. That he probably had no clerical education is suggested by
his writing of purgatorium with ch or c (lv8, 10) instead of g. His
use of r-rotunda in initial position, important for the dating of the
manuscript, has few exceptions (e.g. ran lrl7, rann 2vll, raufade
2vl2). With the exception of minuscule r in uerk lrl3, r-rotunda
is written medially. Minuscule r is most common in final position,
with the exception of r-rotunda in æuentyr lv7b, 2r21, gior lv23,
ydr 2vl7.
Old Icelandic 9 and 0 are usually represented by o (miog 2v5),
but in several instances by au (ausku 2r4, saung 2rl5, aull 2r25,
grell skaupum 2v6, graus 2vl4,17,22-23,25, sauk 2v21). Before g(i),
O writes e as ei more frequently tban does N: seiga 2vi,9, seigiande
lrl2, seigawde lvl4,17, seigande 2r29, scigarmde 2vl5; seiger lrl4;
dreigit lr2; fleigen 2v29. The verb mega is always written with e:
lr8, lvl7; megi lv25. Long é is infrequently distinguished from
