inni og landinu öllu. Þar sést að hlutfall öryrkja
vex smám saman með aldri. Jafnframt sést að
eftir að 30 ára aldri er náð voru hlutfallslega
fleiri öryrkjar meðal kvenna en karla, en á aldr-
inum 16-29 ára var hlutfallsleg tíðni hærri
meðal karla en kvenna á höfuðborgarsvæðinu.

Tafla III sýnir fyrstu sjúkdómsgreiningu hjá
öryrkjum eftir sjúkdómaflokkum. Þetta er sú
sjúkdómsgreining sem tryggingalæknirinn hef-
ur efsta (ef þær eru fleiri en ein), það er sú
greining sem hann byggir örorkumat sitt öðru
fremur á. Þann I. desember 1996 voru sjúk-
dómsgreiningar í örorkuskránni að meðaltali
1,8. í 30% tilvika var aðeins ein sjúkdóms-
greining í örorkumati, í 25% tilvika tvær grein-
ingar og í 45% tilvika fleiri en tvær greiningar.
Geðræn vandamál og stoðkerfisvandamál eru
algengustu sjúkdómsflokkarnir hjá báðum
kynjum og til samans um helmingur tilvika.
