fossa. In 47 operations we induced hypotension.
The most common anesthetic agents and technics were thiopental, nitrous oxide,
muscle relaxants and narcotics using moderate hyperventilation. Major complica-
tions were few,two cardiac arrests during anesthesia. Both patients were
resuscitated, one died 10 days later without ever gaining consciousness.
The most common problems of neurosurgical anesthesia are discussed, such as the
effects of anesthetic agents and technics on the intracranial pressure, air
embolism during posterior fossa operations and induced hypotension.
