rit Nýja testamentisins. Einkum hafa menn hingað til kannað hvemig
„khreian“24 gæti gefið vísbendingu um dæmisögur25 guðspjallanna og
hlutverk þeirra.
Menn hafa einnig í auknum mæli kynnt sér aðferðir og stflbrögð í
mælskulistar- og rökfræðiritum26 og sýnt fram á þýðingu þeirra fyrir
biblíurannsóknir. Hingað til hafa menn einkum reynt að benda á stílbrögð
sem höfundar Nýja testamentisins hafi notað úr þessum ritum. Rit
Heinrich Lausbergs Handbuch der literarischen Rhetorik 22 og Elemente
der literaríschen Rhetorík 28 hafa komið mönnum að miklu gagni í þessu
sambandi. Sem dæmi um rannsóknir þar sem reynt er að skilgreina
stflbrögð mælskulistar í Biblíunni má m.a. nefna skýringarrit Hans Dieter
Betz á Galatabréfinu.29 Auk rannsókna á stflbrögðum hafa ýmsir beint
athyglinni að því við hvaða aðstæður orðræðan er sögð (rhetorícal
situatiori).3Q í mælskulist er talað um þrjár megin tegundir orðræðu,
„réttarfarslega“ (dikanikon),31 „stjómmálalega“ eða „ráðgefandi“
