53, pain in the shoulders in 39 and backache in 30. Tendemess and spasm of the
neck muscles occurred in 75. Head movements were limited in 27. Only 3 patients
showed neurological signs as cervical sensory radiculopathy.
The CSF was examined in 91 patients and in 28 it was abnormal with slightly raised
total protein content and erythrocytes. This might indicate some damage of
structures adjacent to the subarachnoidal space. No correlation was between the
CSF findings and the severity of symptoms.
