RITMENNT
FRÁ LEYNDARÁRUM LEYNDARSKJALAVARÐARINS
Þriðja bréfið til George Wilson er sýnilega
flaustursskrift, sent líklega með einhverj-
um göngumanni, því ekki er svo langt á
milli Brownlow Street og Great St. Andrew
Street að þyrfti að póstleggja það, hvað þá
ónáða um of einhverja þjónustu.
(Utanáskrift) G Wilson Esqre Great St Andrew
Street.

Langsennilegast er þessi snepill saminn
þegar barnshríðum Gríms út af lýsingu
krónprinsessunnar var að ljúka, því síðasta
bréfið er ritað frá Kaupmannahöfn, fimm
eða sex árum síðar.
(Utanáskrift) To George Wilson Esqre at Mr
James No. 43 Greek Street Soho.
Dear Sir
The friendship, which you were so good as to
bestow on me, during my residence in London
rnakes me flatter rny self of it being agreeable
to you to offer you a fresh occasion and opport-
unity of shewing you a friend to a countryman of
mine. The Chevalier de Buchwald,14 who is sett-
ing out on a tour through England, is desirous
of your acquaintance, and it would be a trespass
on my side, were I to deprive him of it. Let me
therefore entreat you, to give the Chevalier
F.v.: Greinarhöfundur Benedilct S. Benedikz, sonarsonur
Benedikts S. Þórarinssonar, brjóstmynd af Benedikt S.
Þórarinssyni og Ólafur Björgúlfsson, dóttursonur hans.

March 29th 1796
To
George Wilson Esqre.
14 Chevalier de Buchwald var sennilegast Friedrich
Buchwald (1747-1814), síðar stiftamtmaður á
Fjóni, en DBL segir hann hafa gert a.m.k. eina
Englandsferð á yngri árum.
