má aðra hvata en pólýmerasa til keðjufjölföldunar
DNA svo sem ligasa (ligasechain reaction). Bráðlega
munu koma á markað raðeiningar frá Abbott labora-
tories sem byggja á LCR (ligase chain reaction).
Fyrirtækið Organon teknika hefur þróað mark-
mögnunarkerfi sem notar þrjá hvata til fjölföldunar á
DNA eða RNA við lágt og jafnt hitastig sem nefnist
NASBA. Aukmarkmögnunarkerfanna(tai'getampli-
fication systems) hafa verið þróuð annars konar kerfi
sem þjóna hliðstæðum tilgangi. Má þar nefna s vonefnd
merkismögnunarkerfi (signal amplification systems)
ogkannamögnunakerfi (probeamplificationsystems).
Hvað sem öðru líður er líklegt að vænta megi
byltingarkenndra breytinga á því verklagi og starfs-
aðferðum sem tíðkast hafa lengi á sýklafræðideildum.
