With exception of an outbreak of German measles and higher in-
cidence of acute intestinal catarrh, paradysentery and epidemic cere-
hro-spinal meningitis than usual, epidemics were of little consequence
during the year, and the general state of the public health was on the
whole even exceptionally satisfactory.
