IARU Climate Congress, Copenhagen, Denmark 12 March, 2009“. Fundargerð ritaði Paul Baer: http://sites.google.com/site/mtobis/copenhagenclosingp lenary [sótt 19. október 2011]. Rahmsdorf segir: „I’m well aware that scientists and politicians and the general public often use language in a different way, there’s a lot of communication problems sometimes arising from that, and I want to just express a concern that I have that when politicians talk about the ambition of two degrees as you did, that that’s considered an ambition, and in the end, if all goes reasonably well, we actually end up with three degrees of warming. Whereas I think, I want to emphasize that when as scientists we talk about those two degrees, that really is a kind of upper limit that we really should not cross. I personally as a climate scientists, I could not honestly go and tell the public that two degrees warming is safe. We’re already seeing a lot of impacts of the 0.7 degrees warming that we’ve had so far. So I consider two degrees not safe, and John Schellnhuber this morning asked about the question „Is Russian Roulette dangerous?“ and in RR you have a one in six chance of something terrible happening, I think that when we go to two degrees we probably have more than a one in six chance of really bad impacts occurring.“ 5 Joni Seager: „Feminism and Climate Change“, The Scholar & Feminist Conference, 27. febrúar 2010. Seager er auk þess mjög gagnrýnin á hagfræðilegar réttlætingar. Þeim sé fyrst og fremst ætlað að mismuna þjóðum heims. Vesturlönd móti sér stefnu sem sé ætlað að takmarka tjónið heima fyrir, án tillits til þess hvaða afleiðingar stefnumörkunin hafi víða í þriðja heiminum. Fyrirlesturinn má finna í heild sinni á netinu: http://vimeo.com/10189134 [sótt 19. október 2011]. Seager flutti fyrirlestur á Íslandi um sama efni 5. nóvember 2011 á vegum RIKK (Rann sóknastofu í kvenna og kynjafræðum við Háskóla Íslands), en hún var einn af heiðursfyrir lesurum á 20 ára alþjóðlegri afmælisráðstefnu rannsóknastofunnar.
