Mr. C. J. Hambro (Leader of the
Conservative Party in Parliament),
President of the Storting (since
1927 and of its Foreign Affairs
Committee since 1925), member of
the delegation since 1926; Mr. Joh.
Ludw. Mowinckel (Leader of the
Radical (Left) Party in Parlia-
ment). Mr. Mowinckel was Minister
of Foreign Affairs 1922—1923 and
Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign Affairs 1924—1926, 1928
—1931 and 1933—1935; he was
the first delegate of Norway to the
League Assembly in 1922, 1924—
1925, 1928—1930, 1933—34; Dr.
Christian L. Lange (Radical), for-
mer Secretary-General of the Inter-
parliamentary Union; Dr. Lange
was a member of the Norwegian
delegation to the League 1920—
1933 and since 1935; Miss Johanne
Reutz (Labour), delegate since
1935; Dr. Frede Castberg, legal ad-
viser at the Ministry for Foreign Af-
fairs; Dr. Castberg has been a mem-
ber of the Norwegian Delegation
to the League 1925, 1926, 1928,
1930 and since 1935; Mr. Einar
Maseng, Permanent Delegate to the
League of Nations and member of
the delegation since 1934; and Mr.
Rolf Andersen, Director of the
League of Nations division at the
Ministry for Foreign Affairs, former
Secretary to the Norwegian Dele-
gation to the Assembly.
Dr. Castberg and Mr. Flambro
met in the First Committee; Mr.
Mowinckel and Mr. Maseng in the
Second Committee; Dr. Lange in
the Third Committee; Mr. Ham-
bro in the Fourth Committee; Miss
Reutz and Mr. Andersen in the
Fifth Committee, Dr. Koht and Dr.
Lange in the Sixth Committee and
Dr. Lange and Mr. Maseng in the
Seventh Committee.
Mr. Hambro spoke in the First
Committee on a proposal to amend
the rules of procedure of the As-
sembly and was elected a member
of the subcommittee to study this
question. He also put before the
committee the question: who should
be responsible for Austria’s contri-
bution to the League until the 13th
of March 1938.
Mr. Maseng was active in the
Second Committee, especially in
discussions touching shipping and
maritime questions.
Dr. Lange spoke on disarmament
in the Third Committee.
In the Fourth Committee Mr.
Hambro, as a member of the Super-
visory Committee and chairman of
the Contributions Committee, had
to speak quite often on budgetary
and financial questions. — The
Contributions Committee, with Mr.
Hambro as its chairman, was reap-
pointed for one more year. Mr.
Hambro was elected a member of
the Allocations Committee, which
will meet next year. — The British
Delegation had proposed (and the
proposal was adopted by the As-
sembly), that a special economies
committee should be appointed to
