lede nærmere oplysninger om originalen til J>, Jon DorSarsons bog:
»ad få Catalogum yfir allt }»ad i henne er, og nær hun skrifud muni
og af hverium«. I året 1707 har han truffet Jon DorSarson selv og
spurgt ham, men fået det overraskende svar, at denne ikke ejede
noget håndskrift af denne art og intet kendte dertil. Herefter har
Arne Magnusson formodentlig indstillet sin efterforskning, så meget
mere som han efter at have konstateret disse ekscerpters afhængig-
hed af Hb næppe har brudt sig meget om dem.
Det skal til slut nævnes at unge islandske afskrifter af Breta
S9gur (AM 176a og b fol, Bask 29, JS 638 4to, m. m.) går tilbage
til den forkortede tekst som findes i 281 og 597, uden dog at kunne
nedstamme fra nogen af disse to afskrifter. Også herigennem får
vi et vidnesbyrd om, at der i sin tid har været andre eksemplarer
end de nu eksisterende.

Bjorn Jonsson å Skar&så har, som allerede nævnt, i en særskilt
bog, Grænlands annåll1, samlet alt hvad han kunde finde om Grøn-
land; dette hovedprincip har han imidlertid tolket ret liberalt og
taget nogle ting med som ikke har noget direkte med Grønland at
gøre. Grænlands annåll findes i AM 115 8vo (i det flg. betegnet
GrænlAnn). Størstedelen (bl. 1-40) er skrevet med forfatterens egen
hånd, resten (bl. 41-8) med en anden hånd fra det 17. årh. Den mest
sandsynlige forklaring på dette forhold turde være, at bogens sidste
ark har været i en så dårlig forfatning at man har afskrevet det og
derpå kasseret originalen.
I GrænlAnn er flere større eller mindre afsnit fra Hb afskrevet.
Den i det følgende anvendte nummerering findes ikke i håndskriftet:
1. »Saga edur [hisjtoria Dorfinns karlsef[nis] Dordar Sonar«, bl.
lr-23v. Svarer til nr. 8 ovenfor og har de samme interpolationer fra
Landnåmabok.
2. »Hauks ættartala l9gmanns (sem Hauks bok seigist skrifad
hafa) og hans konu Steinunnar Åla dotter«, bl. 23v-24r. Svarer til
nr. 5 ovenfor, men slutter med Hb 50518. Genealogien begynder med
