We are two gentlemen, trawelling to Grímsstaðir on the
mount Hólsfjöll in tiie end of December 1936 and rest in the
church the night between 29. and 30. December.
We had very good supper because the church contended great
deal of exellent food. Mr. John Pétur had not eaten it all. Next
morning we will leave the church early and go on.

M. Macdonald Spencer, I. L. M. Danson, D. G. Glennie
passed here, having corne from Mývatn via Suðurárbotnar, Askja
and Herðubreiðarlindir in 9 days. They stayed 2 days in Askja
and 3 in Herðubreiðarlindir and had great difficulty in crossing
the Lindá by swimming their ponies. They tried to cross the
Jökulsá opposite Dyngjuvatn to get to Hvannalindir, but it was
in flood ancl impossible to cross. And this time Dyngjuvatn was
completely dried up.
