32 Gunnlaugur Sigurðsson og Kristján Kristjánsson Um höfundana Gunnlaugur Sigurðsson lauk meistara- prófi og fyrri hluta doktorsprófs í félags- fræði við Háskólann í Aix-en-Provence. Hann er lektor við Menntavísindasvið HÍ. Gunnlaugur hefur einkum rannsakað félagsfræði barnæskunnar og þekkingar- fræðilegar forsendur kenninga í menntun- arfræði. Hann er nú einnig doktorsnemi á Menntavísindasviði og eru leiðbeinendur hans Kristján Kristjánsson, Jón Gunnar Bernburg og Sigrún Sveinbjörnsdóttir. Doktorsverkefni hans fjallar um stöðu náms í merkingarheimi íslenskra ung- linga. Netfang: gunnlsig@hi.is Kristján Kristjánsson lauk doktorsprófi í heimspeki við Háskólann í St. Andrews. Hann er prófessor í heimspeki mennt- unar við Menntavísindasvið HÍ og Há- skólann í Birmingham, Englandi. Kristján hefur skrifað fjölda greina og bóka á sviði menntaheimspeki, siðfræði og siðferðilegs uppeldis. Sú nýjasta er The Self and Its Emotions (C.U.P., 2010). Hann vinnur nú að nýrri bók fyrir C.U.P. um heimspeki- legar forsendur jákvæðrar sálfræði. Krist- ján er í ritstjórn Journal of Moral Education og Tímarits um menntarannsóknir. Hann er verðlaunahafi Sjóðs Ásu Guðmunds- dóttur Wright 2011. Netfang: kk9@hi.is About the authors Gunnlaugur Sigurðsson completed a master’s degree and the first part of docto- ral studies in Sociology at the University of Aix-en-Provence. He is currently Lect- urer in the School of Education, Univer- sity of Iceland. Gunnlaugur‘s research has explored the sociology of childhood and the epistemological underpinnings of educational theories. He is now also a doctoral student in the School of Educa- tion, supervised by Kristján Kristjánsson, Jón Gunnar Bernburg and Sigrún Svein- björnsdóttir. His thesis will examine the place/salience of the school in Icelandic secondary school students’ web of mean- ing. He is currently Professor of the Philosophy of Education in the School of Education, University of Iceland, and Pro- fessor of Character Education and Virtue Ethics, University of Birmingham, Eng- land. Kristján has published extensively in the areas of educational philosophy/ theory, ethics and moral education. His la- test book is The Self and Its Emotions (C.U.P., 2010). He is currently working on another book for C.U.P. on the philosophical cre- dentials of positive psychology.
