60 Gísli Þorsteinsson og Brynjar Ólafsson Um höfundana Brynjar Ólafsson er aðjunkt í hönnun og smíði við Menntavísindasvið Háskóla Íslands. Hann er með MA-gráðu í upp- eldis- og menntunarfræði frá Háskóla Íslands. Meginrannsóknarsvið hans er handmenntir og gildi þeirra fyrir nem- endur í grunnskóla. Brynjar hefur setið í stjórn NordFo frá árinu 2005, en það er félag háskólakennara í handmenntum á Norðurlöndum. Brynjar var formaður vinnuhóps sem endurskoðaði aðalnám- skrá grunnskóla í hönnun og smíði árið 2007. brynjar@hi.is Gísli Þorsteinsson er dósent í hönnun og smíði við Menntavísindasvið Há skóla Íslands. Hann lauk doktorsgráðu frá Há- skólanum í Loughborough í Englandi árið 2012 og fjallaði verkefnið um notkun veflægs námsumhverfis til þess að styðja við hugmyndaþróun barna í nýsköpunar- mennt. Gísli var formaður Félags íslenskra smíðakennara árin 1995–2005, formaður Félags norrænna handverkskennara árin 2001–2005 og í stjórn norrænu rannsóknar- samtakanna Nordfo árin 2000–2005. Árið 1999 tók Gísli þátt í mótun nýs náms sviðs fyrir upplýsinga- og tæknimennt og var einn af aðalhöfundum aðalnámskrár fyrir hönnun og smíði. Gísli hefur ritað fjölda greina um nýsköpunarmennt og hönnun og smíði og gefið út nokkrar kennslubæk- ur. cdt@hi.is About the authors Brynjar Ólafsson is Adjunct in Design and Craft in The School of Education at the University of Iceland. He holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Iceland. His main research focus has been on Craft Education and its value for elementary school education. Brynjar is on the board of NordFo, an Academic Research Society for Pedagogic Craft Education in the Nordic countries. He was the chairman of a working committee for revising the Icelandic National Curriculum for Design and Craft in 2007. brynjar@hi.is Gísli Þorsteinsson is Associate Profes- sor in Design and Craft in The School of Education at the University of Iceland. He holds a doctoral degree in Philosophy from Loughborough University in Eng- land, which focused on using a Virtual Reality Learning Environment for idea generation training in Innovation Educa- tion in Iceland. Gisli was the chairman of the Icelandic Craft Teachers Society in 1995–2005, the chairman for the Nordic Slöjd Teachers Society in 2001– 2005 and on the board of NordFo, an Academic Re- search Society for Pedagogic Craft Educa- tion in the Nordic countries, in 2000–2005. Gisli was involved in building up a new national curriculum for ICT and Technol- ogy Education in 1999. He has published numerous articles and several textbooks on Innovations in Education and Design and Craft Education. cdt@hi.i
