With exception of some remnant of Inflnenza and Measles, the
prevalent epidemic of the foregoing year, epidemic were of little
consequence during 1944, and the state of public health can be deemed
having been even unusually satisfactory.
5. Venereal Diseases. Notified cases in the years 1935—1944 are as

There were 55 cases of fresh syphilis, 43 men and 12 women. With
exception of 5—6, the patients caught the disease abroad, most of
them sailors in British seaports.
