‘aaloga’ 26.21 for expected form alhuga (Fritzner s v alhugi). ONP lists a
similar occurrence of this word with long a spelling <aa) from Þorláks saga
in Perg. fol. nr. 5 (ca 1350-65), and the same manuscript contains an
additional example (EdAM A, 13,2, pp. 190.4 and 200.9) (kindly com-
municated by the ONP editors). One may also compare the Norwegian
álhugad (Aasen, Norsk Ordbog).

support of them is the fact that ‘hlvti’ 17.10 (= “things”) is spelt ‘hlti’. The first
element of these not necessarily related words varies among the manuscripts.
