Medio-passive The prevailing form of the medio-passive exponent in G
is <z)‘taldiz’ 1.15 -‘sez’ 18.27 - ’fannz’ 17.52 -‘gcrdiz’27.29 (x 52). Al-
ternatives are <zt) ‘and[a]dezt’ 7.1 - ‘sæzt’ 27.6 (x 5), and <st) ‘leikst’ 20.9
(sole). ‘eg gerumzt’ 18.116 is the only first person sing. instance. ‘toks’ ap-
pears to be the medio-passive form at 26.96, though see textual note. There
is no observable pattern.
The analogical forms ‘sau’/‘saau’ sometimes occur for third past plur. of
sjá 17.80 - 25.30 (x 8); ct however ‘sa’ 3.9 - 17.26 (x 5). Other analogical
forms are ‘uorden’ 18.150 (ct ‘ordinw’ 1.22, 9.35) and ‘uolldit’ 19.64.
4. INDIVIDUAL WORD FORMS
‘alldrigi’ 9.45, ‘alldregi’ 24.74.
‘buand-’ is the only form for instances of bóndi.
The following occur ‘aa braut’ 9.32, ‘æ brwtt’ 2.5, 3.3, 19.16, 43, ‘j brwtt’

dyrr has y throughout the declension ‘dyr’ 3.24 - ‘dyrvm’ 17.88 - ‘dyr-

‘eda’ is the usual form 1.11, 20.6, 24.83, 27.17 (all), sometimes abbrevi-
ated ‘ea’ or ‘e’ + curl; ‘edr’/‘edur’ does not occur.
The negation ei appears only in verse ‘ei’ 18.72, 130, 21.20, 26.59 (all).
The preposition fyrir does not occur spelt out; it is expanded ‘firer’.
‘hid’ 17.80, 18.49, 22.7, 24.16 (all) is more common than ‘ed’ 17.2 (sole)
or ‘hit’ 2.7, 8.9 (all).
‘huadki’ 19.36 (sole).
